My First Auction: Pulso Art in Motion

2025

Context
I was invited to participate in Pulso, arte en movimiento, a local art auction hosted at Palacio Clavijero in Morelia, Michoacán. It was my very first time being part of a live auction—not as a guest, but as an artist. A space I already loved filled with people lifting paddles, connecting through art, and supporting local talent. It felt exciting, emotional, and unforgettable.

Objective
To present four personal illustrations in a collective art auction, inviting viewers to connect with the stories, emotions, and reflections behind each piece.

Role
Artist and storyteller. I created and exhibited the works, documented the experience, and wrote a reflection piece published in Revista Pulso.

Artworks
Each illustration explored themes of transformation, softness, and emotional growth—translated through watercolor and ink.

Kites
15 × 21 cm | Watercolor & ink on cotton paper
A piece about the lightness of letting go. Like kites, we rise when we trust the wind and our own direction.

Flowers
15 × 21 cm | Watercolor & ink on cotton paper
A reflection on blooming, pausing, and releasing. Each flower feels like a part of me daring to be seen.

Nature
15 × 21 cm | Watercolor & ink on cotton paper
A quiet call to reconnect with what grounds us. Inspired by moments of stillness between the chaos.

Personal Evolution
14 × 20 cm | Watercolor & ink on paper
A visual diary of inner change—nonlinear, uncertain, necessary. A deeply intimate work.

Highlights
– Four original pieces acquired by new collectors
– Exhibition held at a historic venue with wide public reach
– Reflection published in Revista Pulso
– Emotional and professional milestone as an independent artist

Outcome
This experience filled me with joy and gratitude. It reminded me that sharing our stories through art opens space for connection. My first auction became more than just an event—it was a celebration of vulnerability, creativity, and community.
