Murals as community connectors

Context:
As a volunteer muralist, I collaborated with civil associations and private companies to design and execute impactful murals, leading teams of volunteers to enhance local identity and spark conversations among residents. This ongoing project showcases the power of art as a tool for social change, transforming public spaces and strengthening community connections.

Objective:
The objective of the "Murals as Community Connectors" initiative is to revitalize public spaces through mural art that reflects social themes and fosters community engagement. The challenge is to create visually impactful works that not only beautify the environment but also spark conversations and connections among residents.

Role:
As a volunteer muralist, I have collaborated with four civil associations and one private company to design and execute murals for urban art festivals. My role involves creating both digital and large-format illustrations that resonate with local communities, while also leading and coordinating teams of volunteers who assist in bringing these projects to life.

Concept:
The murals are designed to reflect pressing social themes, serving as a canvas for community stories and experiences. By engaging local volunteers, the projects promote a sense of ownership and pride among residents, encouraging them to participate actively in the creative process.
