Context:
I developed the branding for "Rodearte de Arte," an open-air gallery initiative in Callejón del Romance, Morelia. The project aims to create an engaging visual identity that celebrates local culture and promotes emerging and established artists. By blending traditional and modern Mexican elements, the branding fosters community involvement and captures the alley's unique character, envisioning a vibrant platform for artistic expression and cultural celebration.

Objective:
The goal of the "Open Air Gallery Branding" project is to create an engaging visual identity for Rodearte de Arte, an outdoor gallery initiative located in Callejón del Romance in Morelia, Mexico. The challenge is to make art accessible to everyone while celebrating the cultural richness of the area and promoting both emerging and established local artists.

Role:
As the designer for this initiative, I was responsible for developing the branding that reflects the essence of the project. This involved creating visual elements that resonate with both the local community and visitors, ensuring that the branding captures the unique character of the alley and its history.

Concept:
Rodearte de Arte aims to blend traditional and modern Mexican elements in its branding. By incorporating folk motifs such as cardboard dolls, milagritos, and vibrant flowers, the design reflects the colorful heritage of Callejón del Romance. The project encourages community involvement by inviting neighbors to lend chairs as canvas stands for artists, fostering a collective spirit. In collaboration with Casa Romero gallery, this collective exhibition is intended to support both emerging and established local artists, creating a platform for artistic expression. The branding also features popular sayings and imagery tied to Mexican culture, infusing the project with a playful yet creative tone, making it a memorable part of the city’s cultural landscape.

Outcome:
The branding for Rodearte de Arte has been crafted with the intention of capturing the community’s spirit and the historical significance of Callejón del Romance. While the project is still in the proposal stage, the goal is to secure funding and support from the local Cultural Office, potential sponsors, and community allies. Once launched, it is envisioned to create a vibrant platform for artistic expression, fostering deeper connections among community members and providing exposure for local artists. This initiative aims to become an annual event that enhances the cultural tour of Morelia, reinforcing the idea that art can serve as a powerful tool for community engagement and cultural celebration. The collaborative efforts in branding and outreach will help position Rodearte de Arte as a memorable and impactful addition to the city’s cultural landscape.
