Nosotras en México - UN Gender Report Illustration
2024
Context:
As part of "Nosotras en México," the first gender report presented by Nosotras para ellas A.C. at the UN, I was invited to illustrate the concept of "violencia vicaria." This annual report spotlights social challenges, advances in gender-based legislation, and civil efforts in Mexico.
Objective:
The illustration aimed to visually communicate the profound impact of indirect violence, particularly in cases where abusers emotionally harm victims through loved ones.
Role:
Conceptualized and designed the illustration, using subtle symbolism to represent the hidden, psychological effects of "violencia vicaria."
Solution:
Through research and sensitive illustration, I sought to highlight the depth and urgency of the issue, conveying the subtle but potent nature of this abuse form.
Outcome:
This illustration contributes to awareness and discussion on overlooked violence types, underscoring the importance of support for vulnerable communities within national and global contexts.
